Bower is a local-first screen clipping app for Windows. The app is designed to run on your device without requiring an account, cloud storage, or user tracking.
In simple terms: Bower itself does not collect, store, sell, track, or upload your personal data. Your clips stay on your device.

Bower itself does not collect, store, sell, track, or upload personal data. Screen recordings, clips, audio, and app settings are handled locally on your device and are not uploaded to Bower servers.
Internet access
Bower may access the internet only to check for updates and download new versions of the app through Velopack and GitHub Releases.
This update process is used to keep the app current, fix bugs, and deliver new versions. Bower does not use this connection to upload your clips or personal files.
What stays on your device
- Your screen recordings and clips.
- Your audio recordings, if enabled.
- Your local app configuration and preferences.
- Any files you save using Bower.
Third-party services
Bower uses GitHub Releases to distribute downloads and updates. GitHub may process technical information according to its own privacy policy.
The Bower website is hosted and protected through Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process technical information related to website access, security, DNS, and performance according to its own privacy policy.

If you contact us by email, we will use your email address and message only to respond to your request, provide support, or investigate bugs.

Please avoid sharing private information, personal files, screenshots, or clips in public GitHub issues unless you are comfortable making that information public.
